I used it for 9 months in the combat/multi-mission role happily. That's why I ground my way up and got it first (paid for by my trade Anaconda's hauling) and my Cutter second (which took over the money making). Just not enough to justify the rank wall it's locked behind and underwhelming for what should be the premium warship.

Besides, I'm generally not in favor of nerfs anyway. That's one reason why I won't call for a nerf of the Anaconda to bring it into line with the other two of the big three - it would harm explorers.

This is also why it can be made the best exploration ship in the game, using lots of undersized modules, for an ungodly jump range of 60-70ly. The Anaconda has magically low mass, thanks to the Devs, to give it a good jump range for lore reasons. Actually I fly it more than any of my other ships now.ĮDIT: Oh, and replace my two small HPs with two mediums please? Give me another 5-7 Ly jump range and it would be the only ship I'd fly. I have not found a ship that can make me more credits/hour doing bounty hunting than my 'vette. Mine is only modestly engineered, as I only have a dozen of them unlocked. Those are overcharged MCs with autoloaders. I'm currently being lazy as I try to finish my combat elite rating, so I have changed out my weps for long range burst turrets on everything except the two huge. Most usually blow up by the time they get to me because I can keep the nose pointed at the target about 90% of the time, and everything fires almost indefinitely. For most targets I usually take a quick shot at them when they are about 5k out or so to get their attention and have them start their attack run. In a CNB or CZ I don't need to use FA off except for the real small/fast movers and even then don't have to do it that often. True, the 'vette suffers from a severe lack of jump range (mine is currently at 20LY), but from every other perspective I find it to be a superior ship. I have zero need for another Corvette - though I've heard it makes an excellent mining ship from other people on the forums. Someday I'd also like to buy another Cutter for combat use. In fact, I'll be buying/engineering a second Anaconda to deal with the Thargoids. The former will be used when I feel like using something different, while the Anaconda shall remain the workhouse. I'll still keep both my Corvette and Anaconda. And let it look more ridiculous when the T10 comes out with it's NINE hardpoints. The Corvette is currently just a sidegrade to Anaconda.īut, whatevs. No one questions the Cutter's ability to project soft power (diplomacy/trade) and high speed. Why the hell did the Feds contract with Core Dynamics to make this thing when they could just keep deploying Anacondas? It's just not different enough. More to the point, it just doesn't make sense lore wise. I honestly don't understand why people don't want to see the Corvette buffed to be a better warship. I just fly the Corvette when I want to use something different.

After 9 months of using the Corvette, I switched to the Anaconda as my primary ship (for almost all of this year) and I have no reason to go back. Take punishment? Heck, I never lose my shields in either ship! If the Corvette's only "claim to fame" is you can beef it up to stay alive in PvP longer, big whoop.Īs I've said before, I own - and have fully engineered - both ships (and the Cutter). The Cutter excels at high speed/high cargo capacity/high shields apparently, it also fights well for some people. I'm fine with it being multimission capable, but it should be able to outshine the Anaconda in Combat. The Corvette is meant to be a Warship - that's what Core Dynamics makes. Changing the 2 smalls to 2 mediums on the Corvette would be a good start.
